In the Library: Elements of Style

We have a wonderful little library here in Blount County. I must confess I have a bit of an obsession with books. I check them out and never want to return them. I often purchase the books after I have checked them out. It’s like the library book is a test run! Does any one else have this problem?

I recently checked out Elements of Style Designing A Home & A Life by Erin Gates, 2014. And I will be purchasing it very shortly. It is full of very high quality inspirational photos and even a few recipes I might like to try – Grandma Gates’s Congo Bars sound divine. I will try them with some gluten free flour and report back. The auto biography portion of the book is easy to read and follow.

The only part of the book that was not my favorite was the “Define Your Style” bits and pieces. They are very magazine like and I have never been a fan of trying to define my style. Looking at the chart I would want to mix pieces from the different section. I have never been one to follow the rules. Over all this book is worthy of my personal library and I believe it will be an excellent reference book.

Also, Check out the Elements of Style Blog – you can get your very own copy of the book if you are book obsessed like me!
